BAYTOWN, Texas -- Zack and the 33z Racing Team traveled to the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, for the 4th Annual USMTS Texas Spring Nationals.
After a rain-out on Thursday, Friday saw and unlucky draw put "The Z-Man" in the back of a tough heat race where he ended up in the back of a "B" Main.
After passing two cars on the final lap, Zack made the final transfer spot in the "B" Main to get into the main event.
On a rough track that saw more than half the field retire, Zack patiently worked his way from 25th on the strating grid to finish third in the feature and earned the season's first Mesilla Valley Transportation Hard Charger Award.
The team will be back at it again on Saturday night for the final race of the weekend.
