VanderBeek finishes third, teammate Carter tops Stock Cars at Osky

Zack VanderBeek hopped into the driver's seat of Roger Kelderman's Stock Car on Wednesday, July 9, at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. After starting the main event in the eighth spot, VanderBeek worked his way up to a second-place finish. Teammate Cayden Carter took the win for the Orange Crush team.

Carter wins Stock Car feature on Dave Lowry Memorial Night

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- A start to a busy week of racing at the Southern Iowa Speedway as the Dave Lowry Memorial sponsored by Monte Motor Parts, your NAPA Auto Parts Store in Montezuma. It was also Trick or Treat in July Night where the youngster was asked to wear costumes and do a little trick or treating on the front-stretch at intermission.

In the Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars 18-lap feature, it was Michael Peterson leading the first four laps. Bob Lynch grabbed the lead on lap 4 before the caution came out for Brock Welch in turn 2.

Lynch lost the lead to Corey Stout. Stout led until he saw the “Orange Crush” Team right behind him. Cayden Carter took the lead away on lap eight and lead the remaining laps to take his third win.

Stout held off Zack VanderBeek for the second spot. Donavon Nunnikhoven was fourth and Kris Walker was fifth.
