VanderBeek gets back to business with pair of USMTS Central Region battles

After several weeks of suffering rain-out after rain-out, Zack VanderBeek and the Casey's General Stores 33z Racing team finally got back to business with a pair of USMTS shows in the tough MSD Central Region.

On Friday, VanderBeek held on for a third-place finish which put him 11th on the grid for the 30-lap feature where he finished in the same position.

Saturday took the "Z-Man" to the big, fast half-mile Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., where he and Jon Tesch tied for the win nearly seven years ago. Climbing from ninth to third, VanderBeek earned himself a spot in the redraw and went off sixth for the 30-lap main event. A rough racetrack caused by an early evening rain shower bit the LG2 by Owens and VanderBeek retired from the race on lap 18 in 16th place.

The next two Wednesdays (May 6 and May 13), VanderBeek will be back behind the wheel of Roger Kelderman's IMCA Stock Car at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The team will return to action with the USMTS Casey’s Cup Series powered by S&S Fishing for a four-day swing to kick off the Farm Boy BBQ Northern Region, May 13-16.
