Zack VanderBeek and the 33Z Racing team competed in the 5th Annual Grant Junghans Memorial on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. In the past, this was a USMTS event but this year was for USRA Modifieds.
Zack finished second in his heat race, but barely missed the main event lock-in. He started on the pole of his "B" Main but mechanical problems (and a very rough racetrack) ended his night early.

Zack was able to haunt them in his heat race, picking up the win and then drawing the outside front row for the $10,031-to-win feature. by the end of the race, he settled for a solid 8th-place finish against one of the toughest fields of the year.
The third and final event of the inaugural Modster Mash took place at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., with the first-ever "Halloween Hangover at The Hummer" on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Zack steered the No. 33Z VanderBuilt Race Cars USRA Modified to a 4th-place finish in his heat race and then snagged 3rd in his “B” main to earn a spot in the $5,000-to-win main event.
After starting 21st, Zack loaded it into the trailer with a 16th-place paycheck.
