OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- Wednesday Night Mother Nature tried, not once but twice, to wipe away opening night of the 19th Annual Budweiser Great American Stock Car Shootout. Promoter Mike Van Genderen did not give up after working the track in twice, racing took place.
IMCA Stock Cars ran two sets of heat races with the best points getter earning the pole of the dash on Thursday.
Round 1 heats went to Damon Murty, Brandon Jay and Zack Vanderbeek. Round 2 heats went to Jason Minnehan, Derrick Agee and Justin Temeyer.
The top 8 in heat race points were Vanderbeek, Corey Stout, Agee, Murty, Doug Adamy, Scott Pippert, Jay and Cayden Carter.
The Southern Iowa Speedway is back at again Thursday for night 2 of 19th Annual Great American Stock Car Shootout with a $2,000-to-win IMCA Stock Car feature.
