9th Annual Summit Racing Equipment USMTS Winter Speedweeks
Finished 1st in Main EventZack competed at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss., on March 9 in the season opener for the USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. The first half of the race was riddled with yellow flags, but Zack shadowed leader Lucas Lee around the track but Lee was able to hold back the challenges but after taking the checkered flag he was disqualified during post-race technica, handing the win to Zack. It was his 43rd career USMTS triumph, jumping him one spot ahead of Tommy Myer to sixth on the all-time wins list and one behind Stormy Scott. The team heads for a Saturday night showdown at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss.

9th Annual Summit Racing Equipment USMTS Winter Speedweeks
Finished 10th in Main EventThe fifth round of Summit USMTS Winter Speedweeks took place Saturday night at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss., with 43 entries on hand. Zack finished second in his heat race, but was forced to run a "B" Main which he won from the 13th starting spot. After starting 14th on the grid, "The Z-Man" ended the caution-free 40-lapper with a 10th-place finish. The next event on deck is the King of America VIII presented by Summit Racing Equipment on Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17, at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan.

The King of America VIII Modified Nationals presented by Summit took place at the Humboldt Speedway on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 15-17, with 84 cars and drivers signed in for battle over the three nights. In Thursday's USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup points race, Zack raced from 7th to 4th in his heat race and then finished 4th in his "B" Main. Forced to use a provisional for the feature, his main event was cut short by mechanical woes and he finished 23rd. On Friday, each driver competed in two heat races to set the fields for Saturday. From the back, he finished 8th in his first heat and then led all the way from the pole to win his second heat, leaving him 24th in passing points. On Saturday, "The Z-Man" started 12th in the S&S Fishing & Rental “B” Main and finished 7th, giving him the 19th starting spot in the $10,000-to-win main event. After 75 tough laps, Zack advanced to finish 6th and earned the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger Award. The USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup is back in action on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, with the first-ever event in the Copper State at the Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.

Zack and the 33z Racing team made the long haul to Peoria, Ariz., this week for the USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup event at the Canyon Speedway Park. On Friday, he started and finished 7th in his heat race and wound up completing just 15 laps of the main event to finish 22nd. On Saturday, a second-place finish in his heat put him in the redraw. He started fourth and left with a solid seventh-place finish after 40 hard laps.

The 33z Racing team rolled into the Land of Enchantment on Thursday for practice, and then got things going on Friday. Zack roared from seventh to second in his heat race and followed that up with a fourth-place effort in the main event after starting sixth. Things didn't go as good on Saturday. A fourth-place go in his "B" Main left Zack starting 20th in the feature where he managed to wrangle an ill-handling machine to a 16th-place result. An up-and-down weekend ended on the upside Sunday. After winning his heat, 'The Z-Man' started on the pole and led all 40 laps of the Rancho Milagro Short Track Shootout finale. Click here to read the full story. Finished 10th in Main EventZack went from the seventh starting spot to fifth in his heat race in Friday night’s USMTS event at the West Texas Raceway in Lubbock. That put him in a "B" Main where he took the win after starting fifth. Rolling off 13th in the "A" Main, he worked his way forward to register a top-19 finish.

9th Annual USMTS Amarillo Ambush
Finished 7th in Main EventThe team's trip to the Route 66 Motor Speedway on Saturday found a bumpy ride around the high-banked dirt oval in Amarillo, Texas. After struggling to a fifth-place finish in his heat race, Zack fought to a fourth-place finish in his "B" Main. Rolling off 19th in the 40-lap "A" Main, he avoided a first-lap "big one" that took out several cars and found his groove in charging to seventh on the final scorecard.

2nd Annual USMTS Oklahoma Spring Nationals
Finished 8th in Main EventSunday's USMTS show at the Enid Speedway saw the track dry out early on. Zack finished fourth in his heat race but it was enough to lock himself into the 12th starting spot in the "A" Main. At the end of 35 laps, Zack survived for an eighth-place finish.

Finished 1st in Main EventAfter Friday's show was rained out at the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., the 33z Racing squad headed to the Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla. Henryetta Ford USMTS Clash at The Creek
Finished 10th in Main EventNobody knew what to expect the USMTS rolled into the Creek County Speedway just south of Tulsa, Okla., for the first-ever event there, but after the dust settled around 10 p.m. Sunday night it was clear that the bar was set pretty high for a possible second annual Henryetta Ford Clash at The Creek event in 2019. “Big Daddy” Joe Duvall did a heck of a job promoting this event. With more than $7,000 in added sponsorship cash and prizes,the racers paid it forward with a wild caution-free main event that gave the huge crowd their money’s worth. Zack started sixth and wound up fourth in his heat race, so that put him on the outside of the front row for his “B” Main. He won that and rolled off 14th for the feature. After a wild, caution-free 40 laps, Zack took home a new carbon fiber driveshaft courtesy of Fast Shafts for finishing tenth. The team head back north now, and on Friday, May 18, we’ll be at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn., sitting seventh in USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup points and VanderBuilt Race Cars still atop the USMTS Manufacturers Championship standings.

North Star Nationals - USRA Modifieds
Finished 3rd in Main EventWith the USMTS events rained out for the weekend, Zack and the team headed for the Deer Creek Speedway for some USRA Modified action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Drawing the eighth and final starting spot for his heat race, Zack was able to get up to fifth but had to run a "B" Main which he won after starting fourth. In a talent-rich "A" Main, "The Z-Man" charged from the 14th starting spot to finish third at the checkers.

16th Annual USMTS Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge
Finished 4th in Main EventJohnny Scott drove his VanderBuilt Race Car to third after starting 16th on the grid while Zack started 14th and followed Scott across the finish line to claim fourth in a near repeat of last week's USRA Modified main event at 'The Creek.'

Finished 2nd in Main EventZack took off from the pole and set the pace for the first ten laps before Stormy Scott showed him a faster way around the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Zack, who collected his first of 45 career USMTS wins at the Upper Iowa Speedway during his rookie campaign in 2005, wound up second behind Johnny Scott to give VanderBuilt Race Cars a 1-2 finish.

Zack started off Masters week with a 13th-place finish in Thursday's USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup event. After two round of heat races on Friday, he came into Saturday's $40,000-to-win finale ranked fourth in overall points. Forced to make a pit stop midway through the race, he fought his way back to finish seventh and collected a $3,500 paycheck for his efforts.

Finished 5th in Main EventThe team traveled deep into Central North Dakota Saturday for our first trip to the Devils Lake Speedway. A tough draw for his heat race, Zack limped to a 7th place finish which saddled him with the 19th starting spot in the feature. Undaunted, the Z-Man charged forward and took home a 5th place finish. He also earned the Eibach Spring Forward Award and was the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger of the race.
